Help Improve Access to Food to Hungry Central Floridians!
January 10 - June 30
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central FL
“Food for today, and for tomorrow” is Second Harvest Food Bank’s motto. Through the generosity of our community, SHFB is driven to close the gap of unmet need in Central Florida in a variety of effective ways. Our core program of distributing tens of millions of meals per year for the clients of more than 550 local nonprofit feeding programs continues to have a growing impact.
Our efficient programs are aimed at helping the most vulnerable people, such as seniors and children. They also work to shorten the line of people in need by creating self-sustaining opportunities through our culinary and warehouse training programs.
Second Harvest Food Bank provides the necessary training for each volunteer position. VCI’s part in this opportunity is to provide volunteers who are 55+ with a (free) comprehensive benefits package (inclusive of accident, personal liability and automobile liability insurance, a life Insurance benefit, free workshops and more) during the hours that you volunteer! Please contact the RSVP Manager over Orange County for more information: 407-298-4180, x 113 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
RSVP, a part of Senior Corps, is America’s largest volunteer network for people 55 and over, with more than 300,000 volunteers tackling tough issues in communities nationwide. RSVP shows you how you can apply the skills and wisdom you’ve acquired throughout your life to make a positive difference in the lives of others. RSVP is federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
