Mental Health: Mentor Youth Through an Early Intervention Program!
January 10, 2019 - June 30, 2019
Bridges Community Support Services
Bridges Community Support Services is a non-profit organization which is working with at-risk youth that are diagnosed with mental health at the early intervention stage, in order to decrease suicide attempts and hospitalization, as well as being placed in residential facilities. BCSS provides mentorship, counseling, group outings, socialization and target case management for the family.
BCSS hosts youth group meetings, held at the office, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, from 3-6PM. The organization is recruiting for volunteer tutors and mentors. The tutors’ responsibilities would be to assist the teens that have homework. Also, volunteers can assist on any field trips, if they so choose.
Bridges Community Support Services was founded in 2014 as a solution to the desperate need for services in the mental health/ homeless community. They are committed to mental health wellness, including target case management counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation and peer support. They also respond to the basic needs of the target population, which includes the provision of respect and dignity, followed by food, clothing and housing. They are in need of positive and friendly volunteers who want to make a difference in both the lives of individuals and families.
BCSS provides the necessary training for each volunteer position. VCI’s part in this opportunity is to provide volunteers who are 55+ with a (free) comprehensive benefits package (inclusive of accident, personal liability and automobile liability insurance, a life Insurance benefit, free workshops and more) during the hours that you volunteer! Please contact the RSVP Manager over Orange County for more information: 407-298-4180, x 113 / firstname.lastname@example.org .
