Join us on December 1st for our Giving Tuesday Fundraiser!

We need your help this Giving Tuesday! With your donation, we can provide support to those who need it the most in Central Florida.

We all contribute in different ways. Some donate to help the programs they love and some volunteer for the love of it. We want to extend our Giving Tuesday campaign to hear from the people who make it all happen! We want to let people know what makes what volunteers do so important and what donations contribute to. Thank you to all the great volunteers in our communities!

  1. On December 1st support all our programs, we will start a fundraiser on Facebook that will last the entire day.
    Join us at https://www.facebook.com/VolunteersforCommunityImpact.
  2. Please share or start your own fundraiser for VCI on Facebook!
  3. When you donate through Facebook, 100% of your donation goes to Volunteers for Community Impact. No fees!

Our new program, MBK, needs help with their graduations! Donate to MBK this Giving Tuesday and help with us purchasing awards, food, drinks, decorations, and more. Whether you can donate $5, $25, or $100, it all adds up and makes their graduation from the program even better. They have accomplished so much and we would love to show them how much they mean to us!

President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Initiative in February 2014 to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and to ensure that all young people realize their full potential. OCPS Superintendent, Dr. Barbara Jenkins, in conjunction with other members of the Council of Great City Schools, has accepted the challenge to support targeted students with the mentorship needed to become college and career ready. Volunteers for Community Impact will take on MBK as one of its programs and recruit volunteers to mentor the boys.

We are adapting our Foster Grandparent Program to provide our volunteers with virtual volunteer opportunities to continue to help children in schools, Headstarts, and at home. With this change, our volunteers need the devices and services to make them eligible to volunteer and serve those they care for, the young boys and girls in Central Florida who need help the most.  Your donations to the Foster Grandparent Program will help us purchase tablets, internet service, web cames, and more for our volunteers. Our volunteers are 55+ and want to continue to be a benefit to Central Florida while helping children succeed. This not only helps the children but our volunteers as well as they suffer the most from social isolation in this difficult time.

ANY amount will help us in providing our volunteers with what they need. Please donate what you can. Thank you!

Tablets – $80-$100 each – 100+ tablets needed.
Zoom – $15 for each host – estimating we will need at least 20 hosts, to begin with.

Our RSVP volunteers are out volunteering the best they can. Some are handing out food at food banks, others are helping adults learn to read virtually and in so many other ways. While our volunteers start to gradually volunteer at food banks and other physical places, they are in need of personal protective equipment (PPE) to help them keep safe while volunteering. They need face masks/coverings, gloves, safety vests, sanitizers, and other items to protect them while they are volunteering. Your donations will help us provide them the necessities they need during our current pandemic. Thank you for supporting our volunteers!

Citizens’ Commission for Children has funded a new program for VCI that impacts underserved preschool children. The new program will be called OTTER (Older Teachers Teaching Young Readers) and will focus on introducing young children to the joy of reading.  OTTER volunteers will spend time reading to young pre-K students in the Orlando metro area to instill in them a lifetime love of reading and help build literacy skills that will help students succeed academically.

Sponsor a child and help them learn to read.
Your commitment for 12 monthly donations will help support children in the program by providing a book-of-the-month to them to read every month for a whole year! Help bring the magic of reading to pre-k children and grow into great future students!

$7 a month ($84) – provides for 3 children

$14 a month ($168) – provides for 6 children

$28 a month ($336) – provides for 12 children

The GOAL Program provides a support system for girls in Central Florida with the Girl Scouts. At Girl Scouts, the girls will prepare for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure in a safe, no-limits place designed for and by girls! Through dedication and hard work, girls earn badges while in the Girl Scouts and this is where you come in. With your donation, you can provide badges for girls in our program.

Each badge has certain criteria and requirements that must be completed for a girl to earn that badge. Once they complete the requirements then we can purchase them their badge. The average cost of a badge is $3.00 but they can range from $2.50 – $7.00. Examples of badges that the girls can earn:
