AmeriCorps Seniors Senior Companion Program — Seminole County

VCI’s Senior Companion Program serves homebound older adults throughout Seminole County including Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Winter Springs, Oviedo, and surrounding communities. Senior Companions provide regular friendly visits, help with everyday tasks, and transportation to appointments, giving seniors the support they need to stay in their own homes longer and reducing the isolation that affects so many older adults.

Volunteers must be 55 or older and meet income eligibility guidelines to receive a tax-free hourly stipend, transportation reimbursement, and accident and liability insurance.

AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program — Seminole County

Foster Grandparent volunteers serve in schools, Head Start centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and daycare centers throughout Seminole County. They provide consistent, caring one-on-one attention to children who benefit from an experienced mentor in their corner.

Volunteers serve 15 to 40 hours per week and receive a tax-free hourly stipend, meal allowances, transportation reimbursement, and an annual physical. Must be 55 or older and meet income eligibility guidelines.
