VCI’s Foster Grandparent Program serves children across Volusia County, placing experienced older volunteers in schools and early learning centers where they provide the kind of patient, consistent mentoring that makes a lasting difference in a child’s life.

AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program — Volusia County

Foster Grandparent volunteers serve in schools, Head Start centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and daycare centers across Volusia County including Daytona Beach, DeLand, Deltona, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, and surrounding communities. Volunteers provide one-on-one mentoring and tutoring to children who benefit from a caring, experienced adult in their corner.

Volunteers serve 15 to 40 hours per week and receive a tax-free hourly stipend, meal allowances, transportation reimbursement, and an annual physical. Must be 55 or older and meet income eligibility guidelines.
